Sanofi India, the pharmaceutical manufacturer is planning to set up a wind power plant of 2.1 MW in the state of Gujarat. The company has signed an agreement with Suzlon in August 2013 to implement the project. The power produced will be captively consumed by its Ankleshwar plant. It may be noted, Sanofi's Goa plant has started using biomass based power.
SITAC, a UK based group is planning to set up a 50 MW wind power project in Gujarat with an investment of Rs.. 2500 million. The company has signed an MoU with the state government of Gujarat. The company also plans to set up 250 MW wind power projects over a period of two year in Gujarat and plans to set up a special purpose vehicle for the same.
ReNew Wind Power had set up a 22.5 MW wind power project in Jasdan in Rajkot district in Gujarat. The project had set up 12 units of Suzlon make S-88 wind turbine each with a capacity of 2.1 MW. The power produced will be sold to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVN) under a power purchase agreement.
Greenko group is setting up a 200 MW wind power generation facility in Satara district of Maharashtra. It has tied up with GE
Power to supply low power wind speed equipments and with Reliance Infrastructure for evacuation of power. Around 65 MW of wind
power will be generated by August 2011.
