Karnataka Wind Power Projects

NTPC plans two wind power projects of 500 MW one in Maharashtra and another one in Karnataka

NTPC is planning to set up two wind power projects each in Maharashtra and Karnataka with an investment of Rs. 60,000 million with debt-equity ratio of 30:70 Currently, the locations are not finalized, while the feasibility study is on. Efforts are made to complete the Karnataka project by end of 11th plan period. If this project get going, it will make NTPC one of the largest producer of green power.

KPCL plans 3 wind power projects in the state


Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd, is planning to set up 3 wind power projects viz. Guledagudda in Haveri district, Kappathaguda in Gadag district, Bailhongal in Belgaum district of the state. These project locations will have approx. 250 wind turbines. Currently, study is conducted for wind mapping and frequency. Afterwhich, land required for the project will be decided. The total investment for the project is estimated at Rs.40,000 million. The project will be set up by NTPC.
